Stopping La Liga competition

The Spanish League announced today, Thursday, that all the matches of the competition have been postponed for at least two weeks, due to concerns about the spread of Corona virus.

The League said in a statement: "Given the well-known conditions this morning and the quarantine in Real Madrid after a basket player was injured in the club, the association considered that the current circumstances warrant the continuation of the next stage of the action protocol to combat Corona."

Accordingly, and according to the measures stipulated in Royal Decree 664/1997 of May 12, the association agrees to suspend the next two rounds of the Liga at least.

"The aforementioned decision will be re-evaluated after the quarantine in the affected clubs is completed, and the possible situations that may occur," she said.

The association was informed of the decision to postpone the competition, for clubs, the Spanish Football Federation and the Ministry of Sports.

Several reports also indicate the possibility of postponing the Champions League matches, and Real Madrid players are confident that their confrontation with Manchester City in the tournament will not take place on time next Tuesday.
