Camacho: "If Messi wanted to stay in Barcelona, he would have said so after Laporta won the presidency of the club."

Jose Antonio Camacho, the former Real Madrid player and coach, believes that Lionel Messi may play in the next round of the Spanish League, his last Clásico with Barcelona.

Camacho believes that the survival of the flea among the ranks of Barca is "difficult", considering that "if he wanted to, he would have said the matter after the arrival of Laporta to the presidency of the Catalan club."

Throughout his career as a player with the Royal ranks, between 1973 and 1989, Camacho played many matches against Barcelona, but as coach of the team in 2004, Real did not play any Clasico under his command.

And about the upcoming confrontation between the two Liga poles next Saturday in the 30th round of the competition, Camacho said: "I see Real Madrid now in good shape, as it now has this thing that was lacking a month ago."

He continued: "Real Madrid is enjoying smoothly, while the morale he gained from winning over Liverpool (in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final) will help him face this Clasico."

And the former Madrid player considered that in front of Barcelona, "any result will be good except for defeat."

On Messi, whose contract with Barca expires at the end of the current season, Camacho said it would be "difficult to stay" in the Blaugrana ranks.

Camacho concluded, "3 months ago it was very clear, but now it is not exactly the case, and I think that if he wanted to stay, he would have already said that with the arrival of Joan Laporta," stressing on the other hand that he wants Sergio Ramos to remain among the ranks of the royal.
