Ronaldinho will remain in "prison" for 6 months

Ronaldinho Gaucho, a former Brazil national football player who was arrested by the Paraguayan police for trying to enter the country with a false passport, will remain in his prison in the South American country after a judge refused on Tuesday a request to release him and only put him under house arrest  in his home.

The former Barcelona striker and his brother were arrested last Friday, and the Brazilians do not need to hold a passport to enter Paraguay, and it is not yet clear why Ronaldinho was carrying the forged documents.

Judge Gustavo Amaria said that the two brothers would remain in high security prison on the outskirts of Asuncion for up to six months or until the investigations were completed.
