Saudi Arabia is waiting for a historical version of the Spanish Super

Millions of football fans all over the world are looking towards the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in the next few days, to follow the activities of a historical version of the Spanish Super Cup.

And the events of the tournament are held for the second time in a row outside the borders of Spain, but it is the first time in its history that 4 teams participate in the competition for the super title, where this version is held with two roles (semi-final and final) with the participation of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

It is scheduled to meet Real Madrid in the semi-final with Valencia, on the stadium of King Abdullah Sports City (the radioactive jewel), while Barcelona clashes with Atletico Madrid.

The lovers of the Round Witch will be on a date with 3 strong matches between four teams, which have already won the Spanish Super Title, and gathered 26 of the 35 Super Liga titles so far.

Barcelona holds the record number of times to win the title with 13 titles, the same balance as the other three teams combined, where Real won the title ten times, while Atlético was crowned twice and Valencia once.

With Barcelona and Real appearing to be the most likely candidates to reach the final and present an exciting Clásico outside the borders of Spain, Valencia and Atletico Madrid have a lot of ambition to set off the surprise and reach the final at the expense of the two big poles.

For nearly 4 decades, the predominant feature in the establishment of this tournament was a confrontation between the home and away matches between the champions and the cup, with the first match being played at the stadium of the team that won the cup, and the return match at the stadium of the team crowned with the league title.

However, the history of the establishment of the tournament witnessed some exceptions to these rules, the most prominent of which was the establishment of the first leg in the 1983, 1988 and 1992 editions on the stadium of the team crowned with the League title, while the return matches in these versions were held on the teams' courts crowned with the Cup title.

The last edition in 2018 also witnessed the establishment of the Spanish Super Cup from only one match, because it was the first time in the history of the tournament that the Super Cup was held on a neutral stadium, where it was held in Morocco.
