Liverpool complete an entire year without loss in England

Liverpool spent an entire year without a loss in the English Premier League, winning Thursday 2-0 at home to Sheffield United at the end of the twenty-first stage, confirming his streak towards winning the title for the first time in 30 years.

Thanks to the goal of Egyptian Mohamed Salah (4) and his decisive pass by Senegalese Sadio Mane (65), Liverpool returned the leaders with the closest pursuers to 13 points, as he raised his score to 58 points from 20 games (he has a postponed match from stage 18 with his guest West Ham United will play it  January 29), compared to 45 points from 21 games for Leicester City II.

Liverpool became only the second Premier League team to collect 58 points in the first 20 games, after Manchester City in the 2017-2018 season that ended in their title.

After culminating in the past year with three titles, the sixth European Champions League, the European Super Cup for the fourth time, and the Club World Cup in Doha for the first time in its history, Liverpool entered this year with a victory that takes a step further in the way of raising the League Cup for the first time since 1990.

Liverpool proved itself, especially at Anfield, as a team flying outside the competition locally this season, as its last loss in the Premier League dates back to the third of January 2019 against Manchester City (1-2).

Since that match, Liverpool has not known the taste of loss in 37 games in the Premier League, during which it has achieved 32 wins, 11 of which are successive this season.

On Sunday, Liverpool will host Everton's rival in the third round of the England Cup competition, before he visits Tottenham next Saturday in the twenty-second stage of the Premier League.
