Barcelona kidnaps Ronaldo's successor with 31 million euros

Barcelona and Sporting Braga announced on Friday that they have reached an agreement to transfer young Portuguese soccer player Francesco Trincao from Sporting Braga to Barcelona in the first of July.

Barcelona said in a statement today that it had reached an agreement with the Portuguese club to include the player to support his offensive line next season.

Barcelona revealed the financial compensation for the deal amounting to 31 million euros, indicating that the player will sign a contract with the club for five seasons ending in 2024/2025 and that the value of the penalty clause in the player's contract will reach 500 million euros.

The fictional value of the penalty clause in the player’s contract reflects the extent of Barcelona’s keenness to retain the player and keep him away from other clubs, especially as he is considered the natural extension of his fellow Cristiano Ronaldo, the former Real Madrid striker and currently Juventus.

During the current season, the player played 21 matches with the team, during which he scored three goals, the most recent of which was in the Maurerense net on Wednesday, and he made six goals for his teammates.

Trencau has played for the youth and youth teams in Portugal since 2015 and crowned with the youth team the UEFA European U-19 Championship in 2018 in Finland and crowned top scorer for the tournament with five goals, including one of the goals of the final match that his country won over Italy 3/4 as well  The player made three goals for his team mates.

Trencao is famous for playing with his left foot, but he also plays with the right foot as he was called the "new Cristiano Ronaldo" after his brilliance with the Portuguese national team in the European Youth Cup.
